Granny flats NSW - Old Bar, Taree, DIY project pic 1

Stunning DIY granny flat 4m x 15m at Old Bar, near Taree NSW

With previous building experience and tools, our customer at Old Bar, the beach village near Taree in the Northern Rivers district of NSW, was able to take on their 4.5m x 15m granny flat construction as a DIY owner-builder project. Now this spacious, contemporary secondary dwelling is an absolute credit to the owner and an immensely valuable lifestyle and optional income addition to the property.

There is no shortage of luxe living in this divine space. The full kitchen has a dishwasher, pantry, and kitchen island with bar and pendant lights over. There is still ample room for an open-plan living area. This granny flat feels just like a proper house inside, with its generous proportions and high standard of interior finishings. The overall building size was 4m in width and 15m in length, plus added veranda.

We love the white-painted internal VJ panelling feature walls, and the pendant lights over the kitchen island – it’s all coastal character and class.

Outdoors there is more of the story, with Colorbond Surfmist and silver-toned window frames in keeping with the fresh, laidback, coastal vibes of the Northern Rivers region.
