Take it “straight to the pool room” when you’ve made the cheapest pool house in Australia with Backyard Pods. And these days, it seems like the pool room is the new must-have in Australian backyards – large or small. We’ve helped many families and property owners to get a pool house or poolside rumpus room (with or without facilities) built more efficiently and cost-effectively with our flat-pack kits. Read some of their stories here and ask us for help if needed.
Please note that swimming pool compliance regulations will apply. Ask your local pool certifier for advice.
For this family at Reedy Creek on the Gold Coast, their poolhouse pod became their much-wanted media room where they could entertain friends and have guests stay overnight. This poolhouse is bright and fresh in cool Surfmist to blend with the local Burleigh vibe and swimming pool surrounds.
This 3m x 6m Backyard Pod completed at Seven Hills, Sydney, shows that you don't need much space for a poolhouse with ensuite! It's energy-efficient too, featuring our range of Polar Eco View double-glazed modular doors and windows for energy efficiency and a lovely, open outlook to the lawn and paved pool patio area.
This so-called 'granny pod' in a suburb of Newcastle, once featured by us on Channel 9 News, was originally proposed for a member of the extended family who would be able to join the family for meals inside the main house, and use the main laundry. Time went by, needs changed, and today the 'granny pod' serves beautifully as a poolside guest cabin adjacent to the main home's deck and barbeque area.
A Blue Mountains resident wanted a low-cost garden studio room that would fit with the vintage Blue Mountains feel. Part of a low stone retaining wall was demolished for the pod to be constructed. The stones were recycled as a decorative surround, making it look as if the pod sits on stone foundations.
Fully installed for our customer at Doncaster, a suburb of Melbourne, this budget-minded pool house or poolside studio pod has eaves and is a more light and airy alternative to trying to build a basement rumpus room underneath a high-set home, without needing costly excavation.
Who wouldn't like a poolside studio with bathroom and kitchenette in their backyard? At Cranebrook, in western Sydney NSW, this family squeezed an approved granny-flat style poolside studio into a tiny space with full approval and at very low cost. We're not keen on 'cream' Colorbond but here it matches perfectly with the existing Colorbond fence.
