Home office pod ‘garden office’ 3.6m x 5m with eaves and blade walls in Strathmore, Melbourne VIC
Garden office pod – so many of us are able to work from home these days, yet it can be difficult to make a perfect, distraction-free space.
Adrian, from Strathmore VIC, needed an extra room for a quiet home office in the garden where he could stay focused, creative, and professional – all while being close to the convenience of home and on-hand to supervise the kids.
A Backyard Pod would become his perfect garden office – private and secluded from family distractions. Adrian ordered the 3.6m x 5m pod kit with Eaves and Blade Walls in Colorbond™ Monument. Through Backyard Pods he also ordered the double-glazed Polar Eco-View stacker doors with black frames, as double-glazing is known for its soundproofing and energy-saving effectiveness – cool in summer, warm in winter.
Adding architectural appeal to the look and design, the eaves help to keep the office cool and weather off of the windows. The blade walls (NB: discontinued) protect from prevailing winds and add a little extra privacy from neighbors.
Adrian did need some professional advice from our Pod-friendly architect in Melbourne) regarding permits for his home office as a habitable dwelling, but with our architect’s help he was given the ‘green light’ to proceed with little fuss. Adrian engaged one of our experienced installers to erect his Backyard Pod to lock-up stage, and with the help of a licensed electrician, and a plasterer mate of his, the office space was completed in May 2020 and the outcome was perfect.
An office Pod can serve as a great study area for teens, or a professional home office space. At low cost and with no great hassle, it can provide a private place where the professional homeowner can retreat and focus, or even host collaboration sessions and meetings away from the main house.
Note from Brett (Backyard Pods – Sales & Solutions Consultant)
This is a stunning example of how one can potentially add huge real estate value to their home. If Adrian ever sells, he can market his home simply as a 4 bedroom, or 3 bedrooms + garden studio office, which would be very appealing to buyers. As a bonus, it photographs very well, I just love the garden setting and this Backyard Pod can be almost anything the heart desires; a music room, craft room/creative space, yoga/mediation room, Shelia shack, man-cave, teen retreat, rumpus, hobby/collectibles room, multi-media home theatre, garden gym, the list goes on. Well done Adrian!
