Backyard office pods Melbourne - Coburg pic 1 - exterior

Combo home office, sleepout, and music room 3.6m x 5m at Coburg, Melbourne VIC

Room to let your hair down in the inner city

You may love where you live but just need a little extra space to focus on work or study, do some yoga, have guests for a sleepover, or let your hair down with a band rehearsal. With an approved 3.6m x 5m ‘multi-purpose room’, our customers in Coburg, Melbourne, are delighted with their new Backyard Pod and the finish achieved by their own builder following the step-by-step instructions.

This project is actually our second of its kind in Coburg, Melbourne, which gives an insight into the more creative inner-city lifestyle of this community and also the properties, mostly from a bygone era and not offering enough internal space for contemporary living.

On the technical side, our customers chose the 3.6m x 5m standard (no eaves) flatpack building kit from Backyard Pods in Colorbond Monument, which has become the most popular out of all the Colorbond colours. The guttering and barges are also in Monument for a sleek look. We provided the steel foundation piers and also the internal lining kit 18m2 (extra noggins) to make the attachment of internal plasterboard easier.

The front of the building has a wide expanse of glazing with one of our double-glazed stacker doors, with black frames, that will really open up the space to the garden in warmer weather. There is also one double-glazed window 600mm x 1545mm in black with matching flyscreen. The skylight was easily added by our customer’s builder, and so was the front entry deck. Reverse-cycle air-conditioning provides year-round comfort.

We can help customers with organising their approvals and tradespeople but in this instance, our customers did all of this for themselves and we simply supplied the kit.

If you’re in NSW, VIC, ACT, or SE QLD and you’d like a home office or multi-purpose room like this one, we’re happy to help.
